Introduction

Haunted places captivate me more than other exciting locations. Bhangarh Fort is renowned as one of the most haunted places, with local legends claiming it is cursed.

Describe a place in your country that you think is interesting

What & where is it?

The Bhangarh Fort, a 16th-century structure in Rajasthan, India, is located on the Sariska Reserve's outskirts amidst the Alwar district's Aravali hills. Gola ka Baas, a village, is nearby. Local legends and folklore have given Bhangarh a cursed reputation, attracting visitors interested in paranormal phenomena and stories.

How did you know it?

I heard its famous stories about how it got cursed in the first place. I have heard of Baba Balau Nath's unrequited love for a beautiful Bhangarh princess, Ratnavati, which ends with him cursing the village before dying. It adds to the fort's reputation as a haunted and abandoned location.

What special features does it have?

While visiting this haunted place, you might feel anxiety and restlessness because everyone feels a weird sense of paranoia. Also, nobody is allowed to visit over there after sunset. Apart from these unique features, there’s a famous story about its princess Ratnavati, Chatr Singh's daughter.

Due to her beauty, she was considered the jewel of Rajasthan. She received numerous marriage proposals and had several suitors vying for her attention. Among those suitors was a local tantric who realised he had no chance with the lovely princess and apparently cursed the princess, her family, and the entire village.

Explain why you think it is interesting

I found it very interesting as it's a cursed haunted place. The mystery story is about Princess Ratnavati and the village being cursed by the tantric. People are not permitted to visit after sunset, and visitors frequently feel uneasy there.

Conclusion

I usually love such things, and because of these things, I found Bhangarh Fort very interesting. Bhangarh Fort's haunted and cursed reputation makes it an attractive destination for adventurous souls.

Introduction

Today, I'd like to discuss a fascinating place in India called Chand Baori in Abhaneri. It is a remarkable historical stepwell that piques visitors' interest.

What & where is it?

Chand Baori is an ancient stepwell located in the village of Abhaneri in Rajasthan's Dausa district. It's over a thousand years old and boasts impressive architectural and engineering feats.

How did you learn about it?

I first learnt about Chand Baori when I visited it with my uncle. Later, I watched the same Abhaneri Baori in the Paheli movie, when Rani Mukherji goes into that stepwell to wash off her face but gets sacred because of some unknown footsteps. It fascinated me and piqued my interest, so I also researched it.

What special features does it have?

The Chand Baori, which was built thousands of years ago, is one of the world's largest stepwells. King Chanda built it sometime in the ninth century. It has 3,500 narrow steps arranged in perfect symmetry that descend 20 meters to the bottom of the well.

Explain why you think it is interesting

Years ago, the stepwells were built in Rajasthan's arid zones to provide water throughout the year. Now, the structure is no longer used as a well; its exquisite geometry continues to attract local and international visitors. King Chand Raja of the Gujara Pratihara clan, who claimed to be a descendant of Lord Ram's younger brother, Laxman, built it, hence the name.

Conclusion

Overall, the Chand Baori of Abhaneri was quite a captivating historical site that showcased India's rich architectural heritage. It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the hidden gems of Rajasthan.
