To Study in Hungary, you must have a valid student visa, that can allow you to stay in Hungary for the course duration. It can also be the beginning of your study abroad journey & studying in Hungary. If your course duration is set to exceed three months, you must apply for a residence permit at the earliest.

Where to apply - To secure a residence permit and be granted entry into Hungary, you must apply for a study visa at the Indian embassy.
Where to get a Residence Permit - When you arrive in Hungary, you must get a residence permit from your local immigration authority's regional directorate. Such a residence permit can further act to be your key to staying & studying in Hungary for your course duration.
Fees - The administrative service fee for issuing a residence permit is EUR 60, payable at Hungary's diplomatic mission primarily in EUR or other convertible currency or, in exceptional situations, in the legal money of the state where the application is filed. If submitted in Hungary, the procedure will cost HUF 18,000 in administrative fees. The fee for extending a residency permit is 10,000 HUF.

Conditions for Renewal - To renew your residence permit in Hungary, you need to go to the regional directorate of the immigration authority that oversees your place of residence at least 30 days before it expires. You can submit your application electronically or in person with any relevant documentation. The immigration authority's website contains information about the competent directorate.
Appeals - You can appeal for decisions of regional offices concerning residence permits within 8 days of delivery to the immigration authorities or the Hungarian diplomatic or consular post where the application was submitted.
Employment During Studies - If you have a residence permit and want to study in Hungary, you can work 24 hours per week during term time and a maximum of 90 days or 66 working days per year outside term time. In such cases, a work visa is not required for the duration of your full-time education.
Employment After Studies - After your studies, you can apply for a residence permit to search for a job or entrepreneurship. Having a valid residence permit for studies can prove that you have completed your studies and that the job you are looking for or the business you are starting corresponds to your studies.
