Overview

The IELTS is a standardized and widely accepted English language assessment test for international education and global migration. It assesses the English language aptitude of non-native English speakers, who wish to study in or migrate to countries, where English is the language of dialogue.

The IELTS credentials are valued in more than half of the countries in the world. It is a required document to get admission in most organizations. You can take the IELTS exam anytime during the whole year. When you aim to take admission in Canada in the SDS category, IELTS certification is one the most important document which is needed. 

IELTS assessment was created to evaluate the language skills of a candidate. It assesses all the four dimension of language which is speaking, listening, reading, writing. Your command of language is measured by how easily you can comprehend situations around you in any English-speaking nation. 

During the test, your ability to listen, read, write and speak in English will be assessed on a 9-band scale where 1 is the lowest and 9 is the highest.

There are two major categories under IELTS:

  • IELTS Academic 
  • IELTS General Training
  • IELTS for UKVI

 

The IELTS Academic:-

IELTS academic designed in a way to analyze your language skill and how well you can comprehend the international academic environment. It serves your purpose to get admission to any level of course in English-speaking nations. While attempting am IELTS Academic assessment, you will go through a lot of academic text. It will check your effectiveness over the academic connotation.

 

IELTS General Training:-

If you are looking for Job opportunities or any professional engagement in any English-speaking territory, you must appear for the IELTS General Training. It assesses how much effective understanding you have over the situations which are related to day-to-day life.
In the assessment, you find more content related to recreational and workday situations.

 

IELTS for UKVI

Candidates who aim to get a study visa in the UK are required to appear in IELTS for the UKVI test.
It emphasizes extended security measures which ensure the genuineness of an applicant. 
Apart from this IELTS for UKVI is all similar to the IELTS Academic.

 

It offers you two choices when it comes to taking exams:

  • The computer-delivered test
  • The paper-based test
