GMAT Full Form - Graduate Management Admission Test

What does GMAT Stand for?

The Graduate Management Admission Test, also known as the GMAT, allows candidates who are thinking about applying to the MBA program to evaluate themselves based on their GMAT results. The student's GMAT score, which varies from 200 to 800, is determined by their talents, tests passed, and other factors. The test has multiple portions, and since each section must be completed, the student must be proficient in each. Students pursuing a business administration degree must take the three-hour computer-based Graduate Management Admission Test.

Different Sections of GMAT

There are four sections on the Graduate Management Admission Test. Every component rates a specific student's competence. There is a separate time allotment and score system for each section. The GMAT consists of the following four unique sections:

  • Essay writing is a component of the analytical writing assessment, and it takes 30 minutes to complete. The student's creativity and mental abilities are amply demonstrated by this assessment.

  • The section that serves as the fundamental assessment of a person's reasoning abilities is called Integrated Reasoning. It takes 30 minutes to complete and has 12 multiple-choice questions.

  • The objective of the quantitative portion is to test students' ability to solve problems. In the allotted 62 minutes, there are 31 multiple-choice questions.

  • The verbal section comprises 36 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a 65-minute time restriction. The questions cover various areas such as comprehension, critical reasoning, sentence correction, etc.
