AFCAT Full Form - Air Force Common Admission Test

What is the full form of AFCAT?

The Indian Air Force is in charge of the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The exam is only used to select Class-I Officers for Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical) and is held annually in February and August.

 

Male and female applicants who want to join the Indian Air Force for both Permanent Commission/Short Service in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical Occupations and Short Service Commission in Flying Branch must complete the AFCAT portion.

 

Applicants are chosen based on their attendance at the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) meeting and online exam. Newcomers relocating to the Ground Duty (Technical) branches must appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) and the AFCAT.

AFCAT Eligibility

Those interested in applying for the AFCAT test should be aware of the following qualification models:

  • Both males and females are eligible for this test. 

  • The up-and-comer must be a resident of India.

 

AFCAT Age Criteria

Flying Branch: The maximum age restriction is 20 to 24. Candidates who possess a valid and active DGCA (India) Commercial Pilot License are eligible to apply for an upper age restriction of 26.

 

Ground Duty: twenty to twenty-six years, maximum.

 

AFCAT Instructive Qualification

  • For Flying: The young talent needs to be a graduate of any program with at least 60% of their checks written off at graduation. In math and physics, he most likely received a 60% in class 12.

  • For the Technical Branch: Candidates must have completed Sections A and B of the Examination of Associate Membership of the Indian Institute of Engineers or the Aeronautical Society with at least 60% or be eligible to enrol in a four-year program.

  • For Ground Duty (Non-Technical): B. Com. With at least 60% of the impressions, graduate. Applications for the training official post must be in the following fields: English, Physics, International Studies, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics, International Relations, Defense Studies, Psychology, Computer Science, IT, Management, Journalism, Public Relations, and Mass Communication with a minimum of 50% and a minimum of 60% in graduation.

AFCAT Syllabus

  1. AFCAT Syllabus for English

The English language questions will cover comprehension, error detection, sentence completion and correct word filling, synonyms, antonyms, vocabulary testing, idioms, and phrases.

 

  1. AFCAT Syllabus for General Awareness

This section contains questions about a variety of subjects, including basic science, defence, geography, history, civics, politics, current affairs, environment, art, and culture.

 

  1. AFCAT Syllabus for Numerical Ability

This section asks applicants questions about the number system, decimal, fraction, time and work, average, profit and loss, percentage, magnitude relation, proportion, simple interest, time and distance, and other topics.

 

  1. AFCAT Syllabus for Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test

Questions about Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability will be asked.

 

AFCAT Salary

Students in the Indian Air Force would get an allowance of Rs. 52,600 during training. The AFCAT training program lasts for a full year. The most current breakdown of an accused official's AFCAT remuneration (per month)

  • Pay Band for all Branches–₹ 56,100 Monthly 

  • Level 10 within the Pay Matrix: VIIth CPC – 56,100-1,10,700
