Criminology is the study of crime, explanations for crime and social reactions to crime. As an interdisciplinary social science subject, criminology draws on a range of perspectives, for example sociology, psychology and law. Criminology aims to go beyond our common-sense assumptions and explore the complex and contentious nature of crime and criminal justice. Short work placements are available on this course on a competitive basis through the 'Microplacements' scheme.
