Describe an activity that made you feel tired - IELTS cue card - sample answer 1

Introduction

An activity that made me feel tired was doing exercise. I can relate to the struggle of not feeling like doing it, so whenever I think of doing that in the first place, I eventually skip by not doing it.

When and where did it take place?

Without a doubt, allow me to tell you about an exercise that increased my fatigue. The training at the fitness centre was quite intense.

Why did you take part in it?

This occurred on a lovely evening last week. I took a quick journey from my house to the fitness centre in my neighbourhood. The exercise included short rest intervals between tough workouts like burpees, squats, and sprints. It was designed to test my limits and improve my strength and cardiovascular endurance.

What was the activity?

This exercise tired me because it was physically demanding and required adequate vitality. The nonstop cycle of serious work after brief minutes of rest left me feeling both depleted and elated. I may feel my muscles working difficult and my heart rate taking off. As the workout advanced, I might feel the weakness setting in, but I decided to total the session.

And explain why it made you feel tired.

Sometimes, doing this kind of solid workout could be an incredible way to challenge me physically. Still, I tune in to my body and rest appropriately a while later to maintain a strategic distance from overexertion.

Conclusion

Although exercising for the first time drained me, I realised how much my body and muscles needed it. So, I balance exercise and rest time to avoid pressurising myself.

Introduction

It was my sister's wedding, which made me feel tired. So it was my duty to help her with everything, not just that, because there were various other things to do if there was a family wedding.

When and where it took place?

It took place last year in Chandigarh. All the guests arrived the day before the primary function, and my brother and his friends went to pick them up from the railway station and drop them safely at the hotel.

Why did you take part in it?

It was my sister’s wedding, so I was supposed to be part of it. An Indian wedding is something that one shouldn’t miss because it is when everyone gets together and enjoys.

What was the activity?

It was my sister's wedding, and although I enjoyed it a lot because of the continuous functions, I got so tired that by the end of the day, I had no energy left.

And explain why it made you feel tired.

It made me feel tired because there were various things that I had to look into. For example, my sister and I were staying in the same hotel room, so I was supposed to look at whether all the dresses and jewellery were there or not. Also, I danced my heart out, making me happy yet tired.

Conclusion

Whether it is a wedding or any other function, one should enjoy it but not to the extent that one has to suffer later from health issues.

Describe an activity that made you feel tired - IELTS cue card - sample answer 3

Introduction

Every year, on the occasion of Lord Ganesh Ji's birthday, we worship him. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most well-known festivals celebrated in Maharashtra. It lasts around 10 days and is so enjoyable that I become happy but super tired.

When and where it took place?

The date varies yearly as it is celebrated according to the tithi on the fourth day of the Bhadrapada (August - September). However, it is celebrated across India and is the well-known festival of Maharastra.

Why did you take part in it?

I participated because we also welcome Ganpati Ji every year at our home in Jaipur with traditional dhols, dance, and complete faith for three days. After that, we immerse them in water and ask them to come back soon next year.

What was the activity?

It is the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, which takes place every year. People enjoy it a lot and wait eagerly every year to celebrate it with full enthusiasm.

And explain why it made you feel tired.

It makes me tired because I have to do lots of preparation before welcoming Ganpati ji, such as helping my mother make Prasad and my brother decorate. I also have to check whether all the required items are available for worshipping.

Conclusion

It is one of the festivals for which I wait a whole year, as it brings a lot of pleasure, happiness, and blessings into our lives. Although we all got tired at the end of the festival, it was all worth it, and it gave me peace of mind when everything went well.

IELTS Speaking Cue Card - Follow-up questions

1. Have you ever wondered how the issue of elderly individuals becoming fatigued quickly can be resolved?

Managing geriatric weariness is not just a matter of comfort; it's a necessity. Regular moderate exercise can increase endurance, and getting enough sleep guarantees renewal. Increased energy is another benefit of a wholesome, vitamin—and mineral-rich diet. Engaging in hobbies or meditation to relieve stress can also lessen fatigue. Therefore, maintaining vitality as one age requires physical exercise, relaxation, and a healthy diet. Remember, taking care of yourself is the key to overcoming fatigue.

2. Do people have fewer holidays now than in the past?

Yes, there are fewer holidays now than in the past. Competition is increasing daily in this contemporary era, and people are overworked, so they do the pending work even on their weekends.

3. Does studying and learning make people tired today?

Studying and learning these days tire people because there is too much competition and academic pressure on the students, who study from morning to evening. They do not have relaxation time, so they study hard to achieve their goals and make their parents proud. They study to secure good marks rather than understand the concepts without caring for their health.

4. How can people solve the problem of older adults quickly getting tired?

Several things can be done to solve the problem of tired older adults. First, they should do mental jobs rather than physical jobs. At this age, they cannot do physical fitness jobs because their bodies are not suitable at that time. Moreover, they should meditate regularly to keep them mentally and physically fit.

5. When do people usually feel tired?

People usually start feeling tired when they’ve been pushing themselves mentally or physically for a bit, like after a long day at work or school or maybe after a challenging workout. Emotional stuff can also zap your energy. And, of course, if you’re not getting enough sleep, that’s a guaranteed way always to be tired. But honestly, when and why folks get tired can vary from person to person.
