What is UKVI IELTS?

IELTS Life Skills is an English language test for the speaking and listening sector at the A1 or B1 level of the Common Core Reference Framework (CEFR).

• IELTS Life Skills A1 - If you apply for a UK visa and immigration (UKVI) for a family, spouse or partner visa. This test takes 16--18 minutes.

• IELTS Life Skills A2 - If you are applying for a UK visa and immigration (UKVI) for an extended visa for a resident family. This test takes 20 minutes.

• IELTS Life Skills B1 - If you are applying for a UK visa and immigration (UKVI) to stay or obtain citizenship. This test takes 22 minutes.

IELTS Life Skills are graded based on criteria, such as

• Get information

• Data transfer

• Speech for communication

• Get into an argument.

There is no break between the components of conversation and listening, as both skills are assessed at the same time. Test results will be available within seven days of your test.

The UKVI IELTS exam is required if you apply for a Tier 4 student visa to enter the university. IELTS for UKVI (Academic) conducts this computer-based test in many places, including Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

IELTS Academic for Visa and Immigration UK - This exam is for those who want to apply for higher education at universities and other institutions or register professionally as medical doctors and nurses in the UK.

This is an exam for those who want to immigrate or apply for secondary education, training program, and work experience in the UK.

IELTS group scores for UK immigration depend on which test you take.

Visa description - 1st level visa (general)

• Minimum CEFR level required - C1.

• Skills – IELTS Listening Task, IELTS Writing Task, IELTS Speaking Task, and IELTS Reading Task.

• IELTS test and minimum score in total and required in each skill - IELTS for UKVI - 7.0 in total and in each of the four skills.

Visa Description - Level 1 visa (Exclusive Talents)

• Minimum CEFR level required - B1.

• IELTS Skills - IELTS Listening Task, IELTS Writing Task, IELTS Speaking Task, and IELTS Reading Task.

• IELTS test and minimum score in total and required in each skill - IELTS for UKVI - 4.0 in total and in each of the four skills.

Visa description - 1st class visa (business)

• Minimum CEFR level required - B1.

Visa description - 1st class visa (Graduated Entrepreneur)

• Minimum CEFR level required - B1.

Visa description - visa of level 2 (sports person)

• Minimum CEFR level required - A1.

• Skills - Speaking and listening.

Visa description - visa of the 2nd degree (Minister of Religion)

• Minimum CEFR level required - B2.

• Skills - IELTS Listening Task, IELTS Writing Task, IELTS Speaking Task and IELTS Reading Task.

• IELTS test and minimum total score and required for each skill - IELTS Life Skills at A1 - IELTS for UKVI - 5.5 in total and in each of the four skills.

Visa description - 4th level student visa (general) - depending on the level of the degree and the courses in each department.

• Minimum CEFR level required - B2.

Visa description - 4th level student visa (general) - degree and above.

• Minimum CEFR level required - B2.

• Skills - IELTS Listening Task, IELTS Writing Task, IELTS Speaking Task, and IELTS Reading Task.

• IELTS test and minimum total score and required for each skill - IELTS / IELTS for UKVI - 5.5 in total and in each of the four skills.

• Minimum CEFR level required - A1.

• Skills - IELTS Speaking Task and IELTS listening Task.

• IELTS test and minimum total score and required in each skill - IELTS Life Skills at A1 - Pass, IELTS for UKVI - 4.0 in speaking and listening.

Visa Description - Family Way - Spouse / Partner / Related Parent

• Minimum CEFR level required - A2.

• Skills - IELTS Speaking Task and IELTS listening Task.

• IELTS test and minimum score in total and required in each skill - IELTS Life Skills at A2 - Pass, IELTS for UKVI - 4.0 in speaking and listening.

Visa Description - Family Way - Spouse / Partner / Related Parent

• Minimum CEFR level required - B1.

• Skills - IELTS Speaking Task and IELTS listening Task.

• IELTS test and minimum score as a whole and for each skill required - IELTS Life Skills at B1 Pass. IELTS for UKVI - 4.0 in conversation and listening.

IELTS for Level 2 visa

• If you are applying for a UK Level 2 visa, you will need to take the IELTS UKVI exam to enter the UK.

• To obtain a Tier 2 (General) visa, you must pass the IELTS UKVI exam with a CEFR B1 level in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and have a total group score of band 4.0 in each of the skills tasks.

• For Visa Tier 2 Sportsman, you must pass an IELTS life skills test with a CEFR A1 level in speaking and listening and have a total group score of 4.0 in IELTS for UKVI.

• To obtain a Ministry of Religion Level 2 visa, you must pass the IELTS UKVI exam with a CEFR B2 level in reading, writing, and listening, and have a total group score of 5.5 in each of the four skills.

Excellent knowledge of English is required here, as is the type of work performed in religious ceremonies, preaching, religious instruction, the welfare work of the Christian community, or the translation of scriptures.
