Describe someone you know who often helps others cue card - sample answer 1

Introduction

I've always appreciated individuals who exude kindness. I know someone who always goes above and beyond to help others, and she has a lovely heart. I am quite close to this person, whose name is Komal. I'll give an overview of Komal on this topic and explain why I believe she is so kind.

Who is this person?

A few years ago, I began working at an overseas company and got to know Komal. We joined the same team and were hired at a gap of around 3 months. We used to hang out after work because we had similar interests, and we soon became friends. When I got to know Komal better over time, her generosity to others was one of her most notable traits.

How often does this person helps others?/ How does this person help others?

Although Komal works as a digital marketer professionally, she is a good person off the job. She makes sure to use her spare time for a nearby charity, where she works to aid the underprivileged. In addition, she tries to keep in touch with her loved ones and friends and extends assistance to them whenever needed. For example, when my Activa broke down last month, Komal came to my house to pick me up and took me for a few days while my vehicle was being fixed.

Why does this person help others?

I believe that Komal's genuine concern for people is the reason for her kindness in many situations. She doesn't ask for anything in return and is always willing to lend a helping hand to people in need. Komal treats everyone with the same regard and empathy; her generosity is not just reserved for her friends and family. Because of her kindness, she has developed a reputation for being dependable and trustworthy, and people frequently ask for her counsel or assistance.

How do you feel about this person?

Her goal is to improve the world through tiny acts of kindness driven by her large heart. Her selflessness motivates those around her to be nicer and more compassionate. And since she is my friend, I am really proud of her.

Conclusion

There aren't many people like Komal, in my opinion, so everyone should make a modest effort to assist others. If everyone pitches in, society will benefit greatly.

Introduction

I've come across a lot of good-hearted people throughout my lifetime. They give those in need cash, food, and clothing. Here, I want to talk about one of them. She is Amrita, a childhood friend of mine.

Who is this person?

She is the most beautiful girl inside out, if I may use that phrase to describe her. Every individual is drawn to her because of her dark hair and sparkling brown eyes. She is the most kind and generous person I know. She values honesty and treats others with respect. Also, I'm personally intrigued by her sense of style.

How often does this person help others?

She assists people in numerous ways. She dedicates the majority of her day, more than half, and even more on weekends, to raising awareness in the community and helping poor people in as many ways as she can.

How does this person help others?

She puts a lot of effort into helping homeless children, and I like that she used her savings to start a night school where underprivileged children can attend to learn fundamental skills. She stands out from the crowd because, as I've observed, she works so hard to assist children and the homeless.

Why does this person help others?

We all know that poverty and a lack of education are at an all-time high, and the government has already implemented plans and initiatives to address these issues. However, if we have the necessary resources and expertise, we should also take action to further the common good.

How do you feel about this person?

I believe that Amrita has a naturally helpful nature because she has committed her time, money, and effort to help others. We need more kindhearted people like her to assist those in need, especially in light of the issues that our society is currently facing. Having her as a friend makes me happy and proud.

Conclusion

In my opinion, she is an inspiration to the current generation. Talking about her motivates me to make a contribution to society as well.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Follow up questions

Question: Why are some people willing to help others?

Answer: Individuals with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion are more inclined to provide a helping hand to others. During their upbringing, they are frequently taught these values by their parents, teachers, and other significant persons.

Question: In what kind of professions do people help others more?

Answer: All professions have the potential to directly or indirectly assist others through the goods and services they provide. However, people who work in social and community service fields, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that support women's empowerment, child education, and other social issues, frequently engage in more hands-on helping.

Question: Who should teach children to help others?

Answer: Children can acquire good or bad knowledge mostly from two sources: school and home. Children learn how to serve others from their parents, who are their first teachers at home. Also, their teachers can teach children how to help the underprivileged and how to share with other kids in the classroom. Therefore, it is the duty of teachers as well as parents to teach children to help others.

Question: Have you done volunteering work?

Answer: Yes, I worked as a volunteer in an organisation when I was in school and in college. At the time, we painted the impoverished people's houses in my hometown. We also cleaned the roads and lanes. We took action to tidy up our hometown. I currently participated in volunteer work as a member of a youth club in my neighbourhood.

Question: Do people nowadays help others more than in the past?

Answer: I feel people no longer assist others as much as they formerly did. These days, people are incredibly self-centred. They aid others after pursuing their own financial gain. This, in my opinion, is a result of modernity, as people are now more concerned with their own work and focus on earning money.

Question: Can people improve their image in society by helping poor people?

Answer: Yes, they most definitely can. For example, when political leaders volunteer for the public good, people start to regard them more than others. Apart from this, individuals from the general masses can build a good image of themselves by helping needy and poor people.
