Introduction

Apologising is one effective way to resolve many issues and solve matters in the blink of an eye. It is important to understand the meaning and concept behind why people apologise. Today, I want to share an experience with you wherein someone apologised to me.

 

Who the person was?

The person who apologised to me was my class teacher.

 

When it was?

It happened when I was in 4th standard.

 

Why did this person apologise?

My class teacher's name was Mrs Monica. She apologised because she slapped me for a mistake I did not commit. She slapped me in the heat of the moment and did not give me a chance to make her understand the entire situation.

 

Explain how you felt about it.

When she apologised, I felt happy that she understood that she was wrong and gave me a chance to explain my situation. Moreover, I noticed that after that situation, she made conscious effort to listen and understand the situation before reacting to it.

 

Conclusion

To conclude, when my teacher apologised for her mistake, as a kid, I understood that there is no harm in apologising to any person; rather, it is a gesture to rectify one's own mistakes, and this practice needs to be taught to children from an early age.

Introduction

Apologising is a practice that we are taught from an early age. Children learn this from their parents, school, and other people and circumstances. Likewise, I want to share an experience with you where someone apologised, which also taught me a lot.

 

Who the person was?

It was my brother who apologised to me. This was a special scenario that did not happen quite often.

 

When it was?

It happened when I was in my 12th grade.

 

Why did this person apologise?

My brother apologised profusely because he forgot to wish me on my birthday. Usually, I find these things very petty and minuscule, but his not wishing me was a big deal for me. He and I have a strong bond due to no age difference; this is because his wish was essential for me, and I was hurt because of this one thing.

 

Explain how you felt about it.

Initially, I was not ready to forgive him because this small birthday wish was very important to me, but then he explained his situation, apologised from his heart, and surprised me with my favourite chocolate. Then I forgave him and felt nice.

Conclusion

To sum up, even though my brother forgot to wish me, what mattered to me was he apologised and made an effort to correct his mistake.

Introduction

Everybody's life is filled with various events, and we also know that certain situations impact us directly or indirectly. Although the events cannot be undone, we do have the ability to express regret, understanding, and remorse. In a few instances, I was also given an apology, which made it simple for me to go on.

 

Who the person was?

The person I am talking about is a very close friend of mine.

 

When it was?

This happened a year back when we had a breakout and did not talk for more than six months at a stretch. This is the person I grew up with, and I have known her for decades.

 

Why did this person apologise?

When she apologised, she mentioned that she understood where she had gone wrong and felt sorry for her mistake. She apologised because she understood that because of the lack of communication, there was a breakout between the both of us.

 

Explain how you felt about it.

When she first came and apologised, I had certain resentments left, but then she became a dear friend to me for a very long time, and I was relieved at the same time. That mixed feeling made me realise how important she is in my life.

 

Conclusion

In a nutshell, this experience made me realise that apologising is one thing, but forgiving and letting go of things are equally important. Communication was required from both ends in this situation, and that could have cost us our friendship.

Question- Is it important to say sorry?

Answer- Since elementary school, expressing sorry or apologising has been taught as one of the most important phrases. I used to feel that saying sorry was one of the fundamental manners, but now that I think about it, I think it's crucial since it may save my relationships and leave a positive impression on others. Reassuring the injured party that you acknowledge your error and not theirs helps them feel better and keep their cool.

 

Question- In what situations do people say sorry?

Answer- When they are at fault, they typically apologise. Occasionally, intelligent individuals take the initiative to apologise even when they are not at fault. This saves time and energy, keeps things civil, and terminates strange arguments.

 

Question- Why do some people hate to say sorry?

Answer- Saying sorry can make some individuals feel weak or as though their status and authority are at risk, which is why some people believe that saying sorry all the time is bad for their self-respect. This, in my opinion, occurs when the idea of saying "sorry" is misinterpreted. Some even detest apologising because they believe others will make up for their mistakes. 

 

Question- When do people say thank you?

Answer—The second golden word, which we've all been taught since we were young children, is thank you. Saying "thank you" is the simplest and most popular approach to expressing gratitude to someone. It is crucial to express gratitude. I really believe in the power of positive vibes, which is why I think it's important to recognise and thank others for their efforts.

Question- Do you think accepting apologies is always the correct thing to do?

Answer- An apology is really about letting go of doubts, fears and a certain level of ego. However, not everybody is aware of what an apology actually entails. Saying sorry indicates that the offender has acknowledged that they accidentally caused pain and will now take steps to prevent it from happening again. It is best not to accept an apology unless it is evident that the other person is at fault and has acknowledged the gravity of the loss because occasionally, individuals apologise merely for the purpose of stating they are sorry.
