CELPIP stand for Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program. The Canadian English Language Competency Index Program, or CELPIP, is an English language competency exam developed by Paragon Testing Enterprises, a branch of the University of British Columbia, a Canadian corporation. By taking this test, test takers can show they are proficient in English. The examination also evaluates a candidate's ability to communicate in English in various authentic contexts, such as exchanging messages with friends, perusing news articles, and analysing and reacting to written content. It accomplishes this in an exact, accurate, and transparent way.
According to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the CELPIP test is accepted as validation of English language competency for programs including citizenship, permanent residency, and other forms of Canadian immigration.
The CELPIP has two types, which are-
CELPIP-General
It evaluates a person's ability to speak, read, write, and listen in English; results are used to grant professional titles and obtain permanent residency.
CELPIP- LS
Tests a person's ability to speak and hear in English; used for applications for citizenship and professional designations.
As the syllabus for CELPIP-General and CELPIP-LS is different, both have separate exam formats that will be discussed below-
CELPIP-General
This CELPIP has four components: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Each element is further divided into sections, which are-

Different fees apply in India depending on your chosen CELPIP exam version and the testing location.
The approximate cost of the CELPIP-General test is 12,500 INR. However, these expenses might differ and alter according to the testing location. Furthermore, the prices do not include any potential extra taxes or processing fees. Therefore, it is crucial to check directly with the test centre for the most updated pricing and available payment methods.
The registration process for the CELPIP exam is straightforward and may be completed online. The procedures for registering for the CELPIP exam are as follows:
Sign up and make a profile on the CELPIP website
Next, choose the exam type on the official website
Schedule a date for taking your test
Pay for the exam
After the fee is paid, the student will receive a confirmation.
You may register only for one (1) test session within four (4) calendar days. The test's venues, dates, and times are all negotiable. If you need to make any changes to your registration, you will receive an email notification.
Next, you will receive your centre and admit card, according to your preferences.
After the exam is finished, you will receive your result within 4-5 calendar days, which can be retrieved through the CELPIP account. The official account also gives the student the option of re-evaluation.
The number of correct answers you gave in each test part determines how well you scored on the CELPIP exam. The amount of correct answers is then translated into a score for each ability area (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) on a scale from 1 to 12.
The CELPIP score validity is for 2 years.
