ACT Full Form - American College Testing

What is the full form of ACT?

ACT stands for American College Testing. In both the US and Canada, candidates from colleges must pass this standardised exam. The same-named non-profit organisation administers the ACT. Four academic skill areas—English, math, reading, and scientific reasoning—are tested on the ACT. Additionally, direct written tests are offered. American colleges and universities and over 225 international universities have accepted the ACT exam.

Objective of ACT

The ACT is an admission test with multiple-choice questions. ACT's primary goals include

  • To assess a high school student's potential for college

  • To give all candidates a single, shared data point that the institutions can utilise to compare them.

The college's administration will evaluate the results of the standardised tests and also consider the applicants' high school percentage, classes taken, mentor recommendation letters, extracurricular activities, and college interviews. After weighing these factors, the college will offer a seat to those who qualify.

ACT Online Registration and its Fee

There are no distinct criteria in the ACT itself. Students must, however, fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements established by the college or university they are applying to. However, students who wish to study abroad must meet the following necessities:

  • The test is mandatory for high school graduates to show they are prepared for college.

  • Students in Classes 6 through 9 can also take the test.

  • Minors can't register for the ACT entrance exam before age 13.

  • No maximum age limit for ACT test-takers is specified by the conducting organisation.

  • As a means of identification, candidates must have a valid passport.

  • The candidate or legal guardian must have an international debit or credit card to spend on the exam fee.

  • Candidates should take the test no later than two months before the deadline set by their college or university. Usually, the results are released two to eight weeks after the ACT.
