The University of Worcester began as a Teacher Training College in 1946 before becoming a complete university in 2005. Worcester, England is the location. The university's motto is "Ad Inspirandum Aspiramus," which translates to "Aspire to Inspire." The University's chancellor is Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester. It now has over 10,000 undergraduate, postgraduate, and part-time students, making it one of the fastest-growing universities in the UK.
Within six months of graduation, 15 out of 16 University of Worcester alumni were working or continuing their education. The Hive, the UK's first public and university library, was honoured by the Guardian in 2013 with the contribution to the local community award.
Worcester continues to thrive in nursing and midwifery, psychology, teacher education, and sports science, which has lately benefited from the addition of a 2,000-seat stadium.
During their first few weeks at Worcester, international and EU students will benefit from airport pick-ups, orientation seminars, career counselling, social activities, and much more. However, once you've enrolled, the International Student Office will continue to assist and support you with any concerns or advice you may require.
If they fulfil the deadline, all first-year undergraduates will be assured housing in Halls of Residence. The majority of the housing is on campus, and the helpful Accommodation Team is always there to offer information and support.
We offer contemporary housing to accommodate a variety of budgets and demands, with over 1,000 single-occupancy rooms across our campuses. University-managed halls include 24-hour security, 24-hour emergency maintenance, free contents insurance, and communal area cleaning as a top priority. Internet connection (wired and wireless), utility fees, and gym membership are all included. In the 2019 WhatUni Student Choice Awards, student housing was ranked in the top ten.
There are 4 Campuses at the University
St John's Campus: Worcester's home for nearly 60 years, is located among magnificent parkland in a nice, residential location close to the city centre. You'll be part of a secure and dynamic student community just a short walk from class, with a variety of en-suite and basic rooms available and convenient on-campus amenities nearby.
City Campus: The wonderfully restored Georgian buildings of City Campus, located in the centre of the city and within walking distance of St John's campus, provide an inspirational location to live and learn. Living at City Campus is great for making new friends and enjoying everything that Worcester has to offer, with over 170 en-suite rooms and communal kitchen and eating areas.
Riverside and Worcester Arena: In addition, the institution owns "Riverside," a vast property adjacent to the River Severn. This includes a new art space and exhibition building, as well as a 2,000-seat sports arena created as a new sports and events facility, a home for the Worcester Wolves basketball club, a national centre of excellence for handicap sports, and additional teaching and office space. The Worcester Arena, as it is known, is also open to the general public.
Lakeside Campus (outdoor education centre): Lakeside Campus is a 10-minute drive from the main campus in the Worcestershire countryside. Watersports lake, grass fields, forests, and an activity centre are all part of the 50-acre complex.
The University sits in the heart of Worcester, just a few blocks from the train and bus stops. The city is one of the oldest in the United Kingdom, with a rich history and culture. Other halls and sports facilities owned or operated by the university can be found throughout Worcester, although they are not major university buildings or campuses.
The university is listed in the London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Guide as one of the official venues. The directory lists facilities and venues around the UK that can be used as a training base by international athletic teams in the run-up to and during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
