The University of Western Australia is a public research university in Perth, Australia.  It follows the motto "seek wisdom" and strives to better the lives of its students. It is the sixth-oldest institute in Australia and was Western Australia's only university until Murdoch University was established. UWA was established in 1911 by an act of the Parliament of Western Australia. Though, the university started its academic activities two years later.
