University of Surrey, UK

The University of Surrey is a campus university in Guildford, England, in the southeast of the country and it was established in 1966 . The University offers excellent train links to London, which is only 35 minutes away. The Times & Sunday Times University Guide named it 'University of the Year' in 2016. It has around 16,000 students from over 140 countries.

The University is divided into three faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, all of which provide undergraduate and doctoral degrees.

More student housing, the School of Veterinary Medicine, and the £36 million Surrey Sports Park may be found at the Manor Park site, which is only a 20-minute walk away.

When Surrey achieved a prestigious Gold medal in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework, it was recognised as a ‘outstanding' institution, demonstrating the university's commitment to inspiring students and equipping them for a bright future. With courses geared to provide the required skills and experience to flourish in the working world, the University produces highly employable graduates.

Services for International Students

From the moment they decide to apply until they finish, international students have access to support from the University of Surrey. This includes the following:

  • Academic services include a department-specific personal tutor, study areas, materials, and language assistance.
  • Students' Union — in addition to hosting exciting events and activities, the SU represents students and offers assistance with academic challenges, housing, and other concerns.

Student Opportunities.

Between their second and final year of undergraduate study, the University collaborates with over 2,300 partner organisations throughout the world to provide chances for students to put their knowledge into practise and get real-world experience. Boeing, Morgan Stanley, IBM, and the Walt Disney Company are among the worldwide corporations involved. Over the course of a one-year Professional Training placement, students strengthen their personal, intellectual, and professional skills.

Accommodation

On its Paisley, Ayr, and Hamilton campuses, the University of the West of Scotland has little under 1,000 residential places, while the University of Glasgow manages the Dumfries campus. Paisley's campus housing was rebuilt for £17.6 million recently. All rooms are self-contained, with first-year students being given priority.

Surrey works hard to assist students in achieving their career objectives. Students learn the qualities that companies want in the global job market through employability, career management, and entrepreneurial support. Within six months after graduation, 94 percent of University of Surrey alumni are working in a professional capacity (HESA 2018).
