The University of Stirling is located in central Scotland, and its 14,000 students represent over 120 different countries. Stirling University was established in 1967, and its campus is located on the grounds of an 18th-century castle estate on the shores of a lake surrounded by picturesque hills.
Outside of its location, the University of Stirling continues to have various distinguishing features. It is a pioneer in the use of a two-semester framework and modular degrees, allowing for a wide range of start times and study adjustments. Students can effectively change their subject as/or if their interests change because degrees are built up of credits acquired from modules.
More than ninety five percentage of undergraduates were utilized or engaged in any education fifteen months once graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020, HESA), and Stirling students rated the university as having the most effective teachers, lecturers, and performance feedback in European country (International Student measuring device 2016). performance feedback (International Student Barometer 2016).
Possibilities for work placement are promoted as well. 'Making the Most of Your Masters' is one among them, as is a university collaboration with Edinburgh and Aberdeen aimed at strengthening university-industry ties.
The International Study Center offers a Graduate Certificate, a Core Strengths Course - which replaces the first year of Stirling's four-year degree and leads directly to the second year of a graduate program - and a pre-master course. If students are practicing at the International Study Center, they will be offered a conditional offer of a graduate area at the university.
The University of Stirling also offers a 12-week pre-sessional and in-sessional English course, as well as an International Society for students operated by the Student Union.
The University of Stirling received five stars in the QS World University Rankings for teaching, employability, internationalisation, facilities, and inclusion, while the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey found Stirling to be exceptional in the following areas:
Stirling was placed 6th in Scotland and 45th in the United Kingdom in terms of research quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. Almost three-quarters of research was classified as world-leading or internationally good.
All international students are given on-campus accommodations, with the majority of the residences overlooking the loch. All instructional buildings, library facilities, stores, theatre, cinema, and social spaces are only a short walk away. Students who wish to reside in privately rented housing can seek assistance from the Residential Services Office.
Stirling University is surrounded by an 18th century castle on the shores of a loch. Stirling, which is approximately a ten-minute bus ride from school, has a castle, a sports village, and a thriving commercial district. Stirling is the 'Gateway to the Highlands' and is centrally positioned in Scotland, with the airports of Glasgow and Edinburgh just a short distance apart.
The National Swimming Academy and the Gannochy National Tennis Centre are among the greatest sporting facilities in the country, all housed on one campus. The Scottish Institute of Sport, the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland, and Scottish Swimming are all located on campus.
