The University of Dundee, which is located in Dundee, Scotland, was founded in 1881 and has a strong reputation for students interested in traditional professions.
In Latin, the University's motto is "Magnificat anima mea dominum," which means "My soul magnifies the Lord."

Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design is one of the best art schools in the UK, and the University of Dundee School of Medicine is one of the top five medical schools in the country. According to the Guardian University Guide 2020, Dundee is also first in Scotland and fourth in the United Kingdom for Law.

Based in and around Dundee, Scotland's central east coast city, a focus on vocational and professional degrees ensures Dundee graduates fare well in terms of graduate employment, with only Oxbridge graduates commanding greater average starting incomes.

Services for International Students

International students can meet with representatives from the University of Dundee when they arrive at Edinburgh Airport, and arrival materials are provided that answer a variety of concerns about settling in to your new surroundings. International students are welcome at events held throughout the year, and the International Advice Service provides assistance and support on a variety of topics, including visa concerns.

Academic writing, seminar skills, and listening and note-taking are all covered in pre-sessional English courses, as well as free English language lessons for overseas students.

All students who apply by the deadline will be placed in one of four halls on or near the main campus. In the city, there are also university-owned flats that were built or renovated during the last ten years. Students can get help seeking private housing through the Accommodation office.
