The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) was established in 1866 and it continues to provide an inspiring education to all students by offering a variety of specialist courses in friendly and supportive campus environments. The University has campuses in Canterbury, Epsom, Maidstone, and Rochester, all in the South East of England.
UCA was named the top specialist creative university in all three major UK league tables, and the Business School for the Creative Arts is ranked seventh in the UK for Business, Management, and Marketing (Guardian Guide 2021). In addition, the University was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
The creative reputation of the University for the Creative Arts has been established for over 150 years, and the 6,500 students currently enrolled from over 70 different countries study a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Among the topics covered are as below:
Teaching and learning methods in the United Kingdom may differ from those in your home country, and the University for the Creative Arts encourages students to think creatively and to produce personalised, original, and individual solutions to assignments. This means that there isn't always a "right" or "wrong" way to respond to a specific assignment.
The University for the Creative Arts is dedicated to assisting students in reaching their full potential. Students will have the opportunity to update and improve their academic English skills by attending English Language support classes and tutorials with staff who specialise in the theoretical aspects of the course.
If you come from a more direct instruction-oriented educational background, you may find the UK learning methods challenging at first. Help and guidance are available to assist you with your academic progress, and the University provides students with English Language classes that are tailored to meet the course requirements at each stage of your UCA studies.
University housing options include on-campus halls of residence as well as University-managed flats and houses. All accommodation is self-catering, with the majority of rooms being single study bedrooms, and international students are guaranteed a place in UCA managed to house.
The University of Creative Arts has campuses in Canterbury, Maidstone, and Rochester in Kent, about an hour south of London, and Epson and Farnham in Surrey, about an hour west. Both are about an hour's drive from international airports.
