Scholarships for Indian Students in UK

Various Indian students looking to pursue their Master of Sciences Degree in the United Kingdom can apply for scholarships offered by the UK Department of International Development. 

These scholarships will support students in full-time or part-time Master's programs at British universities. Applicants need not be Indian nationals; they need to have completed a postgraduate diploma with a good GPA in India. Before applying, they should have studied science subjects like geography, engineering, mathematics, and physics either at the school or university level.

1. British Chevening Scholarships for International Scholarships :

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) offers British Chevening Scholarships for International Students to Indian students pursuing MS degrees in any qualified subject of study. In addition to the £17,000 annual living and study allowance, the British Chevening Scholarships for International Scholarships include £2,000 for relocation assistance. You must be a non-EU national and hold a master's or doctorate in one of the subjects specified below.

2. Erasmus Mundus Joint MS Degree Scholarship :

The implementation of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarships program is a joint effort between the EU and other countries, including India, to support higher studies. The scholarship will offer the opportunity to 25 students from Asia and Eastern Europe. The Erasmus Mundus, Joint MS Degrees Scholarships, will cover the cost of tuition fees and a monthly stipend.

3. A.S Hornby Educational Trust Scholarship :

UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) offers A. S Hornby Educational Trust Scholarship to Indian students. Subject to meeting the following criteria, the scholarship will provide up to £8,000 (subject to a maximum of £16,000 and disbursed over three years. Applicants must have completed a 3-year degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences at the time of application and demonstrate financial need.

4. Felix Scholarships :

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) offers Felix Scholarships for Indian students. The scholarships will be available to students in Study MS, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in any qualified subject of study. Subject to meeting the following criteria, the scholarship will provide up to £8,900 per year (subject to a maximum amount of £17,000 and disbursed over three years).

5. Rhodes Scholarship :

The Rhodes Scholarship is awarded to exceptional students from all over the world every year. The Rhodes Scholarship is a postgraduate award for students to study at the University of Oxford in England. The scholarship covers all tuition fees and provides a living stipend. 6. Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan :

Commonwealth Scholarships are among the most prestigious types of scholarships in the United Kingdom. 7. Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships (CWIT):

The Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships are among the most important scholarships for Indian students who want to go to school in the UK. The British Council offers this scholarship in the UK, which consists of ten long-term prizes in visual arts and historic preservation for courses that last for a year.

8. GREAT Scholarships:

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) offers GREAT Scholarships for Indian students. The scholarships will be available to students interested in pursuing an MS, including Engineering and Technology, Math, and Science subjects at the university level.

9. Inlaks Scholarships :

The UK India Education Council (UKIEC) offers several kinds of scholarships for Indian students. The Inlaks Scholarship is available to students interested in studying in the UK with a strong research tradition, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Durham universities.

10. Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships:

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) offers Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships for Indian students. The scholarships will be provided to students interested in pursuing their MS at a British University or a foreign institution with a strong research tradition, such as the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and Durham, in any subject of study.

To apply for UK MS in the UK Scholarships, you must meet several requirements. The most important thing is that you must be a citizen of India and a resident in India at application. It would be best to be above the age of 22 and currently holding a postgraduate degree or diploma with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.1 on a 4-point scale. You may be eligible for one scholarship per year, but there is no limit on the number of scholarships that you may apply for. The scholarships will only be available to Indian citizens.
